Cakes by the Sea

Cakes by the Sea bakes out of 2126 Hwy 9 E in Longs, a few miles inland from North Myrtle Beach, and describes itself as a family operation with more than 45 years combined in the cake business. The bakery works exclusively in real buttercream and says plainly on its wedding page that it does not offer fondant, though it will design and decorate a buttercream cake to mimic a fondant look for couples who want that finish.

Couples get a tasting appointment for the bride and groom by calling ahead, plus a wedding cake gallery and a separate flavor list to plan from before the consultation. The kitchen offers 13 cake flavors, including red velvet, Italian creme, tres leches, and salted caramel, against 18 fillings ranging from fudge and lemon chiffon to mocha espresso, and will also work from a couple's own reference design. The shop is a listed member of the Coastal Wedding Professionals network.

The bakery keeps limited hours, open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closes entirely during the first three weeks of January and the week of July 4th. No wedding cake pricing, per-serving rate, or delivery fee is published on the site; pricing is quoted by phone or in person. Its Facebook page, run under the same name, shows continuing seasonal posts and wedding-related event promotion into 2026.
