About
Allessa took over Kathy and Company in Easley after emailing founder Kathy about a job opening and learning Kathy was ready to retire and sell the business; the two worked together to reopen it during the pandemic. Allessa trained in baking and pastry arts and food service management at Johnson and Wales University before her family relocated to Greenville, South Carolina.
The bakery makes wedding cakes, groom's cakes, special-event cakes, and custom desserts from its shop on Calhoun Memorial Highway in Easley. Couples book a consultation through the website and fill out a bridal questionnaire before their order is scheduled; standard bakery orders are placed at least a week in advance.
Kathy and Company does not publish per-serving or package pricing online, so couples receive a quote after the consultation. Allessa has described her goal as continuing what she calls Kathy's thirty-year legacy in the Upstate market while baking from Kathy's original recipes.
