About
Nayo opened Sweet GG's Bakery in the Five Points neighborhood of Columbia on September 25, 2021, after nine and a half years of baking from home; the shop is named for her two grandmothers, Gertrude and Geneva. She is self-taught and still works full time as a teacher alongside running the bakery.
Wedding cakes are priced per serving, with cost added for embellishments such as florals, hand-painted details, gold leaf, or stenciling; delivery and setup are charged separately based on mileage from the bakery, and cake-cutting service at the reception can be added on. Wedding tastings are held on the fourth Saturday of each month, cost $60, and include four guests and a sampling kit. The bakery also sells custom cakes, cookies, and cupcakes, including two vegan cupcake flavors, chocolate and vanilla bean.
Couples request pricing through the bakery's online estimate form, with a response promised within 48 hours. Sweet GG's is located at 631-B Harden Street in Five Points, open Wednesday through Saturday and, starting in September, the first Sunday of the month.
