Wisteria Woods

Half an hour inland from the Grand Strand beaches, Wisteria Woods occupies a historic property on Highway 90 in Longs, built around a farmhouse dating to the late 1800s. The ceremony site is an open-air chapel set back in the woods.

The furniture comes with the venue, which removes a rental line most couples do not expect. Gold Tiffany-style chairs, sixty-inch white round tables seating six to eight, wire spool cocktail tables and Edison-bulb hanging lights are all on site.

So is a house. The on-property rental takes the wedding party for getting ready in the morning and gives out-of-town guests somewhere to stay, which for a venue this far from a hotel strip is the difference between a wedding and a logistics exercise.

The terms are stated plainly on the site rather than buried: a minimum of one million dollars in general liability insurance is required, cancellation more than sixty days out is partly refundable, and the venue recommends wedding insurance. Couples used to vague answers on this point will find that refreshing.
