Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

Caledonia occupies the remains of a rice plantation at Pawleys Island, and the approach is the thing people remember: a drive under century-old live oaks heavy with Spanish moss, which is where most of the wedding photography here happens.

The club offers more than one setting. The clubhouse looks out over the eighteenth hole, and the Fish Shed is a separate and less formal space on the property. A couple can run a ceremony outdoors under the oaks and move indoors for dinner without leaving the grounds.

Weddings are handled by a named coordinator, Judy Springs, on a direct line rather than through the golf shop. For a club whose main business is golf, having one person who owns the wedding calendar matters, and it is the number to call rather than the club's toll-free line.

Capacity and rates are not published on the site. Both are in a downloadable weddings and events brochure, and the coordinator quotes per event.

The photographs are of real weddings on the property: a tiered cake under a lit tent, a wedding party in the oak allee, a bride and groom in front of a wall of roses. The club also hosts corporate outings and golf tournaments, so a wedding date competes with a golf calendar and is worth securing early.
