Wachesaw Plantation Club
A bluff above the Waccamaw River is not a common setting on the Grand Strand, and it is what Wachesaw Plantation Club is built around. The club opened in 1985 as a private country club on what is now marketed as the Hammock Coast, organized around an 18-hole Tom Fazio course that uses elevation changes unusual for the Lowcountry.
Weddings and events run through Kimbels, the club's riverfront restaurant, where the culinary and service teams handle receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, and luncheons alongside the regular dining room. The view over the water does most of the decorating.
Beyond the ceremony, the property carries eight outdoor clay tennis courts, a swimming pool complex, and a poolside café. One thing to settle early: Wachesaw is a private club, so access for a non-member wedding depends on sponsorship and the member calendar — a conversation worth having before a date is locked.
