Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club
Jack Nicklaus was on site when Pawleys Plantation opened in 1989. The course he left runs its front nine through maritime forest and its back nine along a saltwater marsh, with six holes playing against the water, and the property sits among 200-year-old moss-draped oaks at Pawleys Island.
Event space overlooks the 18th green and the marsh past it, inside a full-service clubhouse that also holds meeting rooms and an on-site restaurant. That combination — a ceremony view, an indoor reception room, and a kitchen already on the property — is most of why the club books weddings alongside golf groups.
Where Pawleys separates itself from other course venues is lodging. One-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas on the property all face the golf course, so a wedding party can stay put instead of shuttling in from Murrells Inlet or Myrtle Beach. The club completed a renovation in 2023 and runs a semi-private membership program, which means wedding dates share a calendar with member play.
