About
The Blushing Bride is Andrea, who owns the business and has specialised in bridal hair and makeup for over fourteen years, and Dana, her head stylist, a graduate of Strand College of Hair Design. Between them they give their combined experience as more than thirty years, and they work the Myrtle Beach area together rather than sending a rotating roster of contractors.
The technical problem they organise around is humidity. A Grand Strand wedding between May and September is an outdoor ceremony in coastal damp followed by hours of dancing, and their stated aim is hair and makeup that holds through the night rather than through the portraits. Couples reviewing them return to that point in particular — curly hair that stayed up through a July wedding, bridesmaids whose makeup lasted as long as the bride's.
The second thing they sell is the morning itself. They treat getting ready as setting the tone for the day and run it deliberately unhurried, which matters more than it sounds when a bridal party of eight is sharing one room and a schedule.
