Wedding Hair and Makeup Costs in South Carolina (2026 Guide)
By the Wedding Vendor Connect editors · Updated
Published bridal hair and makeup rates in South Carolina run $190 to $500 for the bride's day-of hair and makeup together. That is the number couples look up first, and it is the least important one on the page — because bridal beauty is priced per service, and the bridal party, not the bride, is what determines the bill.
How the pricing actually works
Nearly every artist quotes per service: one price for hair, another for makeup, charged separately for every person in the chair. A bride getting both is buying two services. Five attendants getting both are buying ten more.
That structure has three consequences worth planning around:
- The party is the budget. The bride's rate is typically 25 to 35 percent of the total.
- Minimums exist and bite at the small end. A bride with one attendant can fail to clear a $700 weekend minimum and pay it anyway.
- The extras are not small. Trials, travel, early starts, additional artists, and automatic gratuity routinely add 20 to 40 percent to the sticker.

The number that actually matters: a bride plus four
Attendants generally run $95 to $165 per service. Run the same party through four published rate cards and the spread is far wider than the bride's rate suggests:
| Artist | Bride | Each attendant (both services) | Bride + 4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soleil Salon (Spartanburg) | $190 | $145 | $770 |
| R. Salon and Spa (Myrtle Beach) | $250 | $190 | $1,010 |
| Mane and Glow (Charleston) | $450 | $260 | $1,490 |
| Bride's Side Beauty (Ridgeland) | $500 | $245 | $1,480 + 20% gratuity = $1,776 |
A $310 difference in the bride's rate becomes a $1,000 difference across a party of five.
Minimums
| Artist | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Mane and Glow Bridal (Charleston) | $700 service total, all weekend bridal party bookings |
| Bride's Side Beauty (Ridgeland) | $500 booking minimum |
| Beauty By Baylee (Myrtle Beach) | $500 on services |
| LAVISH (Myrtle Beach) | 6-person minimum on the Bride Tribe attendant package |
| Charleston I Do | None — party pricing from $300 per person |
If your party is small, the minimum is the first question to ask, not the rate.
The fees that arrive late
Early-start fees. Hair and makeup for a large party starts brutally early, and artists charge for it. Beautifully Styled by Alexis publishes the clearest ladder in the state: $25 for a 7–8am start, $50 for 6–7am, $75 for 5–6am, and $25 more per hour before that. Kathleen Anne Artistry charges $100 per artist before 7am; Mane and Glow starts at $50 per stylist.
Additional-artist fees. Mane and Glow includes one or two artists and charges $50 per artist for three or more. Beauty By Baylee charges $50 for a second stylist. You need those artists — one person cannot finish six heads before photos.
Travel and location fees. R. Salon and Spa charges $100 for at-home service. Beautifully Styled by Alexis includes 40 miles and bills per mile beyond it. House of Color's on-site premium is $25 per service.
Automatic gratuity. Bride's Side Beauty adds 20% to the total. On a bride-plus-four booking that is roughly $300 that does not appear on the rate card.
Preparation fees. Myrtle Beach Hair & Makeup charges $25 if hair does not arrive clean and dry. Small, avoidable, and genuinely common.
Package pricing, and when it wins
Some artists skip per-service pricing entirely:
- LAVISH (Myrtle Beach) bundles the bride at $230 and attendants at $220 each for both services, with a six-person minimum — and makes the bride's hair and makeup complimentary at eight or more attendants.
- Bride's Side Beauty sells full-day team packages: $2,800 for up to 6 people with 2 artists, $3,700 for up to 9 with 3, $4,575 for up to 12 with 4.
- Bailee Cribb Bridal (Myrtle Beach) sells only bundled tiers, from $1,997, which include the preview appointment, rented extensions, and travel; higher tiers add on-site coverage through the reception and a second evening look.
For a large party, a team package usually beats per-head pricing and guarantees enough artists to finish on time. For a bride with one attendant, per-service is almost always cheaper.
Booking and timing
Book 6 to 9 months out for peak spring and fall Saturdays; the artists with a recognizable portfolio fill first, and some cap their calendars outright — Bailee Cribb takes 45 weddings a year, one bride per day.
Do the trial early enough that you can change artists if it goes badly, and confirm two things in writing before you sign: how many artists are coming, and what time they arrive. Those two answers determine whether your morning works, and both carry fees.

Common questions
- How much does bridal hair and makeup cost in South Carolina?
- Published rates for the bride's day-of hair and makeup together run about $190 to $500. Charleston sits at the top — Mane and Glow Bridal charges $225 for hair and $225 for makeup, and The White Room at Salon Alexandria charges $200 each. Myrtle Beach is the most affordable coastal market, with R. Salon and Spa at $125 per service and LAVISH publishing a $230 bundled bride package. Upstate salons go lower still: Soleil Salon and Day Spa in Spartanburg publishes wedding-day hair from $100 and makeup at $90.
- How much is hair and makeup for the whole bridal party?
- Attendants are the larger share of the bill. Most South Carolina artists charge $95 to $165 per service, so an attendant getting both hair and makeup runs roughly $190 to $330. A bride plus four attendants totals about $770 at Soleil Salon in Spartanburg, $1,010 at R. Salon and Spa in Myrtle Beach, and $1,490 at Mane and Glow in Charleston. The bride's own rate is rarely what decides the total.
- Is there a minimum for wedding hair and makeup?
- Frequently, and it is worth asking before you fall in love with someone's portfolio. Mane and Glow Bridal requires a $700 service total for all weekend bridal party bookings. Bride's Side Beauty and Beauty By Baylee each set a $500 minimum. Others set none at all — Charleston I Do publishes party pricing from $300 per person with no minimum, which makes it workable for a bride marrying with one or two attendants.
- How much does a bridal hair and makeup trial cost?
- Trials vary more than day-of rates do, from $90 to $300 per booking. Kathleen Anne Artistry in Beaufort charges $90 for a bridal consultation and trial. Mane and Glow charges $175 per service, The White Room $150 for hair and $160 for makeup, and Charleston I Do's trial starts at $300. House of Color in Bluffton prices a trial run at exactly the same rate as the wedding day. Budget for the trial as a separate line — it is not usually included.
- What hidden fees come with wedding hair and makeup?
- Early-start fees, travel, extra artists, and gratuity. Beautifully Styled by Alexis in West Columbia publishes a tiered early fee: $25 for a 7–8am start, $50 for 6–7am, $75 for 5–6am, and $25 more per hour before that. Kathleen Anne Artistry charges $100 per artist before 7am. Mane and Glow adds $50 per artist beyond two. R. Salon and Spa charges $100 for at-home service, and Bride's Side Beauty adds 20% gratuity to the total automatically.
- Do on-location artists charge more than salons?
- Usually, and one South Carolina salon publishes the difference precisely. House of Color in Bluffton charges $125 and up per bridal service in the salon and $150 and up on site — a flat $25 per service premium, applied to the bridal party as well. Getting ready at the salon is a real way to cut the bill, but it costs you the getting-ready photos and moves everyone twice on the morning of.
- How long does wedding hair and makeup take?
- Budget roughly 45 to 75 minutes per person per service. A single artist covering a bride and four attendants needs most of the morning, which is why artists bring a second stylist for parties of five or more and charge an additional-artist fee. Build the schedule backward from when your photographer arrives, not from the ceremony, and confirm how many artists are actually coming.
