Joan Day Duerr started planning events in 1996 and established Joan Day Weddings in 2007, first out of Northern Virginia before relocating her practice to South Carolina. Her team now works primarily across the Midlands, Upstate, and Low Country regions, with clients also reaching her in the Carolinas and the Washington, D.C. area. Couples choosing day-of coordination, branded Emily Sue's Hospitality, bring Joan and her team in one to two months before the wedding to review vendor contracts, confirm the timeline, walk the venue, and run the day itself. Full-to-partial planning is built around each couple's needs and budget rather than a fixed checklist. Joan Day Weddings also runs a Virtually Yours consulting option for DIY planners at $150 an hour, plus two all-inclusive packages: a six-guest Lovebirds Elopement Mini with flowers, cake, a photographer, and an officiant delivered to a chosen location, and a destination Li'l Soiree for parties of twelve.
