Hilton Head Strings

Violinist Lauren Williams, who performs with her husband Mike as Palmetto Strings, partnered with Daniel Mumm, principal cellist of the Hilton Head Symphony, to build Hilton Head Strings. The group has booked ceremony and event music in the Lowcountry since 2010, drawing musicians from the Hilton Head and Charleston Symphonies and orchestras in Savannah.

Couples choose from a string quartet, string trio, violin-and-cello duo, guitar-and-strings pairing, piano-and-strings pairing, or a solo electric violinist, with acoustic and amplified setups available for outdoor ceremonies. The ensembles play classical repertoire, jazz standards and contemporary pop arrangements, and the network can also connect couples to a separate reception DJ and a jazz combo for cocktail hour. Add-on services include microphone and speaker rental and uplighting.

Hilton Head Strings is based on Hilton Head Island and serves Savannah, Bluffton, Beaufort and the surrounding Lowcountry. The company does not publish fixed pricing; its booking form instead asks couples to select a budget range when requesting a quote.
