About
Eight musicians make up 17 SOUTH Band's horn-driven lineup, playing lead vocals and percussion, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, keyboards, guitar, drums, and bass across a set of Motown, R&B, funk, beach music, and dinner jazz. Several members also perform with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra, the River City Dixieland Jazz Band, and past Spoleto Festival lineups, and have backed touring acts including Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and The Four Tops.
The band is booked for wedding receptions and private parties, with a repertoire built to move a room through classic hits and current pop without a break in momentum. Suzanne and Brian Reed manage the group directly, handling booking and event-day logistics.
17 SOUTH is based in Charleston and has performed at venues including Magnolia Gardens and the Thomas Bennett House. The band's site does not list pricing; rates are quoted per event through the managers.
