Petal & Vine Floral

Sara Turner runs Petal & Vine Floral, a wedding and event floral studio in Columbia that works across the Carolinas rather than only the Midlands.

The studio describes its speciality as installations, backdrops and photo-ops, and the portfolio bears that out. This is floristry organised around the structures a wedding is photographed against: an arbour banked with roses, a ceremony aisle built out along a rail overlooking the water, a floor-level meadow of blooms staged for portraits. Bouquets and personals are there, but the identifiable work is the large built pieces.

That has a bearing on how a couple should approach them. Installation work is priced by scale and by the labour of building and striking it on the day, not by stem count, so an early conversation about which single feature matters most tends to be more useful than a list of arrangements.

The palette across their portfolio is warm and loose rather than tight and symmetrical: garden roses, ranunculus, snapdragon and greenery in blush, coral and cream, arranged to look gathered rather than assembled.
