About
Sarah Swinson Shell opened Fern Studio Flowers in 2010 after studying studio art at Furman University and training at FlowerSchool New York. What began as a small events and wedding business became a full-service flower shop in January 2020, and the studio has since built a following of more than 14,000 on Instagram for its garden-style, fine-art approach to design.
Full-service weddings get the whole design and production team: designers build custom armatures for large-scale installations, source stems locally from farms such as Floral and Hardy and Boon Fox Farm, and arrive early and stay late on the wedding day to handle setup, breakdown, and the transfer of ceremony flowers to the reception. Couples with smaller budgets can book partial floral design instead.
The studio is located at 2855 Devine Street in Columbia. Full-service floral design budgets begin at $5,000 within the greater Columbia area and $10,000 outside it; partial wedding design starts at $300.
