Cru Catering

Cru Catering started in 2000 with three employees and has grown into a full-service catering company that Charleston City Paper readers have voted the city's best caterer for 20 straight years, most recently in 2024. The company works out of 1784 Harmon Street and covers events from intimate dinners to receptions of more than 1,000 guests.

For weddings, Cru builds a menu around cocktail hour, a seated or stationed dinner, and dessert, drawing on Southern and coastal dishes such as shrimp and grits, she-crab soup, and oyster shooters alongside contemporary options. Its Cru Bar division supplies TIPS-certified bartenders and custom cocktail service, and its event team covers chefs, pastry chefs, servers, and mixologists for setup through breakdown. Cru holds preferred-vendor status at more than a dozen Charleston venues, including Old Wide Awake, Boone Hall, Gibbes Museum, the Sandcastle on Kiawah, Harborside East, and Carolina Girl Yacht, and has also worked events at Legare Waring House, Drayton Hall, McLeod Plantation, and dozens of other Lowcountry properties.

Cru is based in Charleston and serves the wider Lowcountry. It does not publish per-person or minimum pricing online; couples get a custom quote after describing guest count, service style, and bar needs through the site's availability checker.
